Training

Training is a crucial element within the Matchbox process. We take the time to fully educate our customers about the admissions process and our software. We pride ourselves on extending far beyond what you may have experienced with traditional software implementations.

As a new Matchbox customer, we’ll start you off with iPad 101 training for background on the tablet, and then provide a full review of the Matchbox product. We’ll also provide the admissions committee of each customer with a thorough product walkthrough – this helps familiarize them with features such as navigation, annotation, adding evidence and scoring. It also ensures that you get the most out of your implementation. The operations staff at each customer will learn to assign applications, pull scoring data, and view reviewer data and reports from Matchbox.

Because we’re admissions experts – we’ll help you discover a number of best practices tailored to your specific admissions process, from competency-based scoring and on-boarding new readers, to calibrating your admissions committee.

In-depth Implementation: 6 Steps to Better Admissions ProcessesFor each customer, Matchbox goes through a 6-step implementation process:

Step 1: It all begins with the application process review. Each university walks us through the current admissions process as we develop an application through the entire review process. This covers all unique specialties from how the application is scored to who scores it.

Step 2: This step starts with a systems review. You have data systems – we have the connectors. We’ll gather all IT and security information required to connect the review data collected from Matchbox to your student information, CRM, online application and/or imaging systems.

Step 3: Two words: workflow setup. We’ll work with you to understand your current workflow: who reviews what content, when. We’ll configure a workflow that places the key applicant information in front of your specialized reviewers.

Step 4: Matchbox role-based customization. We customize each user interface based on roles, so your reviewers see the sections of the application and scoring sections that apply only to their personalized reviews.  We also learn which reports to build into the product to accelerate your own review.

Step 5: Administrator training. We set each customer up for success by providing in-depth training for the admissions officers.  We populate Matchbox with real data and test run the product.

Step 6: Finally, each customer gets the iPad and Matchbox training. We teach our customers all the important information about managing an iPad. Then we walk your admissions committee through everything they need to know to complete their candidate review.
