- System Overview
- Matchbox API
- Security
And now, a few words for the IT professionals in the audience.* There are three takeaways we’d like to make sure we hammer home: Security, Mobility, and Flexibility.
*Where necessary, for the non-technical among us, we’ve included relevant translations in italics.
Security
Matchbox, Inc., provides its admissions solutions in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model via a scalable, highly secure cloud-based architecture delivered to web and mobile device clients.
It’s hosted. You don’t need to install major systems onsite or make major technology purchases. It’ll be highly available, through a Web browser or iPad. And it will be secure. Very secure.
The Matchbox Admissions Systems consist of a role-based distribution system built using the latest in advanced web services.
We make sure that only the specific people within your organization who are allowed to see specific data actually see that specific data.
Matchbox currently uses established cloud-hosting providers Amazon and Rackspace to deliver the Matchbox software services. Both providers are SAS70 Type II, PCI Level 1, and HIPAA certified and are the market leaders in secure, high-availability cloud-hosting services.
Your data on our servers is going to be locked up tighter than Fort Knox. Our partners are the best in the industry, and have the certifications to prove it.
The Matchbox mobile application uses credentials, passcodes, on-device dual encryption, assignments, roles, expiration dates and over-the-air security patches and updates to secure admissions data on mobile devices. There are also customer-controlled security parameters that can be added to maximize the completeness of the security features in Matchbox.
Just because your data moves onto an iPad, it’s not any less secure than when it’s on our servers.
Mobility
At present, the only client available to users is an Apple iOS software bundle on the Apple iPad.
Henry Ford once said the Model T was available in any color the customer wants, as long as it’s black. In that spirit, the client is currently available on any platform, as long as that platform is an Apple iOS software bundle on the Apple iPad.
Flexibility: API
The Matchbox API attempts to conform to the RESTful design principles. You interact with the resources exposed via the API by accessing resource collection and element URIs using the HTTP verbs (GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE). Matchbox accepts and returns both JSON and XML data via the API.
The Matchbox API allows third-party developers to expand and build on the Matchbox platform. Specific information on the Matchbox API can be found here.
Flexibility: Integrations
Matchbox is built to work with the industry’s leading online application systems, student information systems and CRM systems.
You’ve already made significant technology investments. The last thing you want to do is rip-and-replace. We get it.
